I have bought two chairs from BTOD. Lamia and Ameap. My recommendation is go with the Grade A (used). They do put new arm pads on, but they are much stiffer than the original. BTOD kindly sent me an original set of arm pads and I swapped them over. I only realized this issue after buying the Lamia and then getting an Ameap about a month later. I have nothing but positives to say about BTOD both from a sales, shipping, and support standpoint. I switch back and forth between the Ameap and Lamia every few days - I have found this prevents me from forming bad habits. This was an issue I had with my Herman Miller Mirra.

@@ToeKneeT they've told us that it's the best under 300, which I'll admit is a restricted budget for ergonomic chairs, but I'd still expect it to be decent. Did you not find that to be the case?

@@saidchammas I am by no means experienced in computer chairs as the folks here at BTOD and have had a number of budget (under $200) chairs. I am still dealing with upper midback pain as I work from home and sit/stand throughout the day. My experiences thus far with the Atlas is good so far but unable to determine how I truly like it since it has only been 5 days. This refurbished Ameap will be considered as I am able to return the Atlas if need be. I know it surpasses the Atlas chair cost however, I am optimistic as Steelcase is highly regarded and the history and R&D far surpasses a Chinese company - Colamy.

One of these comments isn't true ;) We've all talked a lot of about how big of an upgrade the Amia is over those two more entry level options. But you can always buy the Series 1 and 2 to see if you like them, they have free returns! -Greg

@@btodtv Greg I am not made of money, man! I'm sitting on a Sihoo M57 right now, surely a Series 2 is a decent upgrade from that? I feel you guys don't really see these chairs from the perspective of a completely "normie" person: you're too accustomed to the wider spectrum and can't sympathise with the needs of genuine users. I'd like to see more videos where you actually consider the everyman, and not just your own opinions. Of course you prefer the most expensive chairs...you can afford them!

The chair in this video was created to be an affordable option so that people don't have to get a Series 1, Series 2, or a brand new Amia for $1,000. We also have a ton of content on lower priced chairs so the suggestion that we don't cater to people with a lower budget seems off base to me. -Ryan

@@btodtvIt’s more that your opinions come from the place of “I’ve sat on chairs for a living for years”. You don’t really make those videos from the perspective of a new chair buyer. You don’t know that process, the experience of finding something and perhaps the mistakes people make. You can call it off base all you like; I’m a viewer, and I’m telling YOU that you’re off base. I’m not interested about the refurbished chairs you sell in the US. It’s the same as a professor trying to explain something to a student. The professor doesn’t know what it’s like to be new to that world, and what it’s like to learn, as it was so long ago. You’d do well to actually reach out to viewers and customers and learn more about the user journey. How did they find you? Why did they find you? What products have they tried? How can we create content that makes that process easier? Rather than clickbait videos like this or tier list garbage. Free advice for you. But I won’t be around to see whether you take it seriously or not. Hubris brings everyone down eventually!

Of course our opinions come off as that. Thats how any expert in any field is going to speak. You are upset with us because your price range doesn't allow for a chair that meets your standards. Instead of addressing the actual problem, you attack us. We've made an extensive amount of content on low priced chairs and have done all of those things you suggest. You simply don't want to do the research or testing to find the diamond in the rough you are searching for and you want us to find you a chair that almost certainly doesn't exist. -Ryan

Our entire business model? We’ve been in business since 2006 selling new office furniture and we still sell new office furniture. We started selling refurbished chairs in 2020. The reason we started refurbishing chairs was so that we could sell the Leap, which we had praised for years as the best chair we had ever reviewed prior to ever selling the chair. -Ryan

They sell a worse version of the uplift desk and the owner is far riskier to do business with than the other major players, in my opinion. -Ryan

I did a lot of research in them but couldn't find criticisms which is when I started having a twinge of doubt. good to hear a take from professionals like yourself. a quick follow-up: 1. what makes their version worse than uplift (in their comparison videos to uplift and others it seems that it has the highest stability) 2. risky, how? young business that's why? just so we're on the same page, I'm comparing their apex pro 4 leg to an equivalent version in uplift - they have similar pricing.

@@btodtv honestly, I'm scared of spending that much on an apex pro and just want to make sure I'm making the right purchase. So if you can elaborate more or make a video comparison showing objective assessments, I would be grateful, as would so many others I'm sure. nothing can be perfect. it does feel like there is a lot of propaganda hyping the desk up and my skeptical mind has been having doubts of how come there are no other youtubers showing comparisons and how come there are no flaws shown.

The whole argument presented to buy the Apex Pro is that it's the most stable desk. So, in theory, you are taking a risk by going with a company that has an owner that might post your email exchange on Reddit to flame you if you irritate him. You also accept that your warranty is dependent on a company that popped up during Covid to last long enough to provide that warranty. You also accept that you can't just call the company like all the major players and that you may need to wait for emails or texts to get service. In exchange, you get a theoretically more stable desk. The problem is that the Uplift desk is more stable from our testing. -Ryan
